DSI HELPING THOSE IN NEED IN GUATEMALALA

Since we started the project in the community of Vista Hermosa, San Benito, Guatemala. We have been dedicated to yielding and following the lead of the Holy Spirit. So six months ago when I moved into Hands in Action Project, I really had a heart to hear what God wanted to do and not just start projects. Well, He answered in full stride.

The first thing was to continue the English classes we had begun 2 years ago. Then the Lord lead me to start reaching out to those who are in desperate need in the community, namely the single moms, children and the elderly. The first plan of action was to start feeding a hot lunch after the Saturday morning classes. So Maria Luisa (my wife) and I, sat down and asked God how can we feed so many on such a limited budget? As always the Lord was faithful. He gave us 8 different meal ideas that fit into our budget. These meals are healthy, tasty and the children love them.

It started slow with only 12 children, then in a month it went to 25, then to 50, and stayed steady for 4 months. Then three weeks ago we had over 87 kids come to the project and now last week 100 showed, and I believe this number of children will continue to rise. I am believing in the near future to have this lunch program EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK
