Need Help in Overcoming FEAR?

As I sit here today planning and WORRY about my returning to Guatemala on Christmas Day. The fear of the future started grabbing at my heart. I turned to prayer and God gave me this from the “God Calling” book.  I do believe Jesus spoke to these ladies. This book has ministered to me for years in this same manner. It never fails, when I am faced with something overwhelming, I turn to the Bible and this book and I  always find my answer. May this devotional encourage you today!

Perfect Love

Our Lord, give us that Perfect Love of Thee that casts out all fear.

Never let yourselves fear anybody or anything. No fear of My failing you. No fear that your faith will fail you. No fear of poverty or loneliness. No fear of not knowing the way. No fear of others. No fear of their misunderstanding.

But, My children, this absolute casting out of fear is the result of a Perfect Love, a perfect Love of Me and My Father. Speak to Me about everything. Listen to Me at all times. Feel My tender nearness, substituting at once some thought of Me for the fear.

The powers of evil watch you as a besieging force would watch a guarded city — the object being always to find some weak spot, attack that, and so gain an entrance. So evil lurks around you, and seeks to surprise you in some fear.

The fear may have been but a small one, but it affords evil a weak spot of attack and entrance, and then in some rushing despondency, doubt of Me, and so many other sins. Pray, My beloved children, for that Perfect Love of Me that indeed casts out all fear.- Jesus

Dealing with Problems

I learned from dealing with myself, people in recovery from addictions and most people in general:

We only want the pain and consequences of our sins  to go away but we do not want to deal with the root of our problem.

Until we do, we are doomed to return to this place again and again.

What Is Coming Out Your Mouth?

John 3:16-17   For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

When we refuse to condemn a person or a group of people, is not the same as accepting their lifestyle or even condoning their sin.

It is choosing to walk and talk as Jesus did.  Jesus never spoke a condemning word to anyone in sin, (except to the religious bigots of His time).  Not to the women caught in a sexual sin, not to Zacchaeus or even the women at the well or even to the Roman Soldiers that occupied their land and defiled the temple.

Jesus never condemned and He saved the world. He never even used the modern religious cliche; “well you know I just hate the sin but not the sinner.”(right)

The Pharisees and Sadducees, on the other hand, condemned everyone but never lead a person into the kingdom of God.

Now who do you choose to be?

Psalm 68:18

Are you feeling down and thinking things are not going your way?  I did this morning and the Lord encouraged me with this verse.  So let me also share it with you!

Psalm 68:19. Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits, The God of our salvation! Selah (NKJV)

Just like his mercies and grace are renewed each morning, so are our His blessing, He loads us with them daily. Praise God.

What are you blessing of Salvation?  Adoption in the family of God, Healing, Provision, Protection, and Prosperity.  These are yours when you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Let these words encourage you today as they did me.

Do You Really Trust Him?

John 10:10: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

If you cannot trust Jesus for healing, provisions and protection in this life:

Do you think you can really believe you can trust Him for eternity in the next?

Your eternal life has already began, do not wait to die to enjoy it!

Something to meditate on!

Hypocrites?

Why do non-believers believe Christian are hypocrites?

When the initiation into to Christianity (so to speak) is as follows: To even enter into God kingdom, one must realize, they are never worthy in themselves. It is only on Jesus’s works alone, that will never change!

Charles Spurgeon said it perfectly:

“The first link between my soul and Christ is not my goodness but my badness, not my merit but my misery, not my riches but my need.”

Are You In A Spiritual Wilderness?

Do you feel like you are in a spiritual wilderness or not sure where to turn or what to do?  This  devotional blessed me:

O Lord God, Thou knowest! Ezek. xxxvii. 3. Here is the response of faith. “Thou knowest!”—what a pillow for the heart to repose upon! “Thou knowest!”—what few but comprehensive words to sum up and express the heart’s difficulties and perplexities and trials. “Thou knowest!”—what an inexpressibly sweet resting-place in the midst of life’s tumultuous heavings; in the midst of a sea that knows no calm; in the midst of a scene in which tossings to and fro are the hourly history! What an answer they contain for every heart that can find no words to express its big emotions; for a heart whose sorrows are too deep for language to find its way to God! Oh, that they were ever uppermost in the soul, as the response to every difficulty in our path! They are God’s answer to everything we cannot fathom; God’s answer for our hearts to rest upon, and our lips to utter, when every way is hedged up so that we cannot pass. “O Lord God, thou knowest!” Rest here, believer. Lean thy soul on these words. Repose calmly on the bosom of thy God, and carry them with thee into every scene of life. “O Lord God, thou knowest.”—F. Whitfield.
