Where The Battle Is Won

2 Corinthians 10:5  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Every battle is first won or lost in one’s own mind!

What Am I Worth To God? What Is My Value?

Here is an analogy I once learned:

Take a brand new 100 dollar bill. Crumple it in your hand, then throw it on the floor and walk all over it, next look down and spit on it and spill a drink on it. I want you to treat the 100 dollar bill as bad as you can without destroying it. Now pick it up, wipe it off and then go to the store and ask the clerk how much that hundred dollar bill is worth? It is worth a 100 dollars, nothing has changed it.

Now take a Christian. Crush him, throw him on the ground and then walk all over him. Next, you can spit on him and denigrate him. As a Christian, he also can fall, come up short and never make the so-called mark. How much is he worth? He is worth the same as he was when Christ died for him, nothing has changed.

Remember, no matter what happens to you as a Christian, you are always the righteous of God, you have been saved and declared righteous by the King of Kings and nothing can ever change that. No matter how much you mess up in this world, just like the hundred dollars, your worth never changes in the eyes of the Savior. He died for you.

What if I never excepted Jesus?

If you never gave your life to Jesus or you have tried to live a religious life and trying to earn your way to heaven.

So if you are not sure: Ask this question: Am I going to heaven when I die? If you say: “I do not know” or “yes,I believe I am a good person!” BOTH answer will disqualify you!

Only Jesus paid for your sins at Calvary. You owed a sin debt to God, in which you could never pay. So in order for God to make you sinless and righteous, He became man (Jesus) and died for you. Your debt is paid, so all you need to do is to except Jesus gift to you. You just need to give your life to Him and ask:

“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

Unspotted

A boat doesn’t sink because it is in the water; it sinks because the water get into it! – Billy Graham

Christians do not fail because they’re in the world but the world has gotten into them!

James 1:27  Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Are You Waiting For God to Direct You?

Are you waiting around for your ministry?  You might be called to your first work and not even realize it. Always remember, before God can use you in ministry, you must be usable. (not perfect)

Here is a word from the Lord:

Remember your great field of labor is yourself. That is your first task, the weeding, the planting, digging, pruning, bearing fruit. When that is done, I lead you out into other fields.

Thou Shalt Have No Other Gods Before Me (Devotional)

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

If you find yourself beginning to love any pleasure better than your prayers. any book better than your Bible, any house better than God’s, any table better than the Lords’s, any person better than your Savior, any one better than your soul, a present indulgence better than the hope of Heaven – TAKE ALARM! (Guthrie)

Our New Moto Bike

Thanks to Ambassadors to the Nation who donated the money to buy our new moto bike. A new bike for us is use the same way as a pick-up truck is used for most other ministries. The last bike carried more bags of groceries to help the poor then one can imagine. We are grateful for this great gift and for God’s provision on this ministry.  Praise the Lord.

Happy Memorial Day

As we remember the ones who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.  Please also remember the ONE who gave the ultimate sacrifice: Jesus Christ.  In Romans 5:8 it states “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in while we were yet sinners (Gods Enemies), Christ DIED for you.  Why did He die for us?  The main reason is wants to have a relationship with you.  God is not angry with you, He is in LOVE with you.  But OUR sins, our own desires, block that relationship with Him, here and in eternity.  So God knows, we can NEVER be good enough,  live a perfect life, give enough sacrifices or money, do enough sacraments to earn our way to him.  No good works can do it for us!

So instead, Jesus , the one who COULD do all this.  Did it for us.   He went to that cross and took every sin you ever committed against Him and paid it off.  God will never hold you accountable for any sin you ever did.  Why?  Because Jesus was held accountable for those sins, your crimes that you committed against God,  He paid that debt for you!  Jesus took your death sentence for you!!  Is that not great news?  If you think so, that is what we call the Gospel (to good to be true news).

So today as we remember those who died.  Remember the One who DIED for you personally.  Give your life to Jesus, he paid the ultimate price so you can be free for all eternity.  Remember it is free gift, to all who call on His Name.

But how Denny?   How can I accept Jesus and receive this great gift?

  • Repent from your SINS; (repent simply means go the other way, turn around). Walk away from those sins by telling God you want something better, that you are though with this empty life you been living or:
  • Repent from GOOD WORKS, so many think, they can keep Gods laws: they go to church enough, be baptized, give money and do good work they can earn their way into heaven.  That is plain foolishness!   So many under this category are in churches every Sunday and have no idea they are on there way to an eternity without God!  Why, because they are like the religious men of Jesus’s day,  thinking that they could earn God’s favor by being religious and doing acts of religion.
Romans 4:5;  David Celebrates the Same Truth ] But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,
Romans 4 2-4;  What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh?[a]For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”[b] Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. (remember your works are used as a debt against you not for your grace!)
Ephesian 2:8,9;  For by grace you have been saved through faith, and  it that not of yourselves; is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Remember this are Gods words not mine!
  • Give your life to the one who can save you! As I said earlier, while you were Gods enemy, God died for you. Jesus took your death sentence to the cross. He paid all your debt you own and now offers you a free gift of eternal life with him.  Eternal life is not fire insurance!  It life with God here and now!  John 17:3;  And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
  • God wants to forgive all your sins, these are the things that keep us away from him. Remember, it the things that keeps us away from Him.  God is always near, he is not mad or angry, it is you that left not Him.  So remember (repent: turn around) and you will see that God is right behind you, waiting on you. He will never going to bring up your sins or remember your sins or wrongs if you allow Jesus to take your sin to the cross and pay it.  Remember it already done! He waiting on your decision.
  • Roman 10;12-13; For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.[a]
  • Simply tell Jesus in your own words:  Jesus I am sorry for the way I lived, I tired of this life, (living for myself and my selfish ways or Lord, I tired of trying to be good, be perfect and trying to live the perfect religious life! I can’t do it any longer!!!! So today I accept your death on the cross, that you paid all for my sins and all of those things that keep me away from you.  I now make you my Lord and King and Savior over my life. Thank you for all done for me.   When you do this you have passed from death to life.

Helmet of Salvation (Rick Renner)

I have been sharing this for weeks. Today found it in one of my devotionals, that I read every morning.  Friends do not let the devil or your traditions of  your Church steal from you!

If your salvation is not worn tightly around your mind like a helmet, the enemy will come to chop the multiple blessings of your salvation right out of your theology. He will try to hack away at your foundation, telling you that healing, deliverance, preservation, and soundness of mind were not really a part of Jesus’ redemptive work on the Cross. By the time the enemy is finished with your mind, the only blessing he will leave you with is Heaven!   (From Rick Renner Aug 4 Sparking Gem)

Our First Guatemala Christmas

After I finished my schooling in Calvary’s Timothy Program, I stayed in Guatemala according to the leading that God was giving me.

Soon I began working with Maria Perez, my interpreter. It was soon after this I found five families living on a missionary project, who were not being feed or having supplies for their basic needs. Even though these women worked 6 days a week, 12 hours or more a day they had not been payed for three months. We soon began supplying food for these ladies and the children.

As months went by, we developed a strong friendship with these ladies and their children. We started doing outings and bible studies. Sunday we would hold church services at their project and the ladies would cook lunch for Maria and I.

Christmas was fast approaching and one Sunday in children class, I forgot where I was and asked the children to make a list for what they wanted for Christmas. The children had no problem making the list but I soon found out, it made the mothers very awkward.  When I asked Maria why, she told me that in Guatemala the very poor do not celebrate Christmas.

I felt embarrassed for only a minute or so. After I looked over the childrens’ list I exclaimed to Maria ” lets have a Christmas party and we will, like Santa Clause fill this list for the children!” After saying that, the ladies said “where is our paper for our list!” So all the women made their Santa wish list to.

Soon after that, Maria and I began searching how much it would cost to fill every list. I found out it would be no problem financially doing it. So for the next two weeks Maria traveled all over San Benito buying everything those kids wanted. We even found a Christmas tree and decorated it after our Sunday church service.

On Christmas Eve all the families joined me for Christmas dinner, we served chicken and all the trimmings. The Christmas tree was lit and the festivities began. You should have seen their faces after dinner when they went in and seen all the presents under the tree.

One lady, Carmen, wanted a queen size bed so her family would not sleep on the floor. Fatima wanted new baby clothes and a stroller for her new born baby, Joshua. We bought new dresses for all the ladies and every girl received a new doll and of course every boy had on their list a bicycle.

I think the only thing on their list that we did not get was a trip to the USA, which Fatima wrote. Before we open the gifts the women and children had a present for me. They made me leave, so they could prepare. They had no money to buy me a present, but instead they lit candles and sang a Guatemalan song which is dedicated normally to sing on Fathers Day to their fathers.

I was completely move. We finished the evening at midnight with a Guatemalan tradition. They light sparklers and every one in Guatemala shoots off fireworks at the midnight hour. I soon found out that for everyone there, it was the first time they ever received a gift and celebrated Christmas.
